With Pokemon Crystal and its sequels, Nintendo made a huge splash with its first foray into the world of video games.

It’s a fun game to play if you enjoy playing a bit of puzzle games like puzzle games that don’t have a lot in common with traditional puzzle games, like Sudoku or Monopoly. 

Pokeball-based games are another game I’ve found myself getting into recently, and Pokemon Crystal really shines in this regard. 

Pokemon Crystal is not just a puzzle game, it’s a puzzle-based adventure game with a bit more depth and polish. 

What you need:  You need an NES, Gameboy, Game Boy Color, or Gameboy Advance, a Gameboy Color, Gamecube, or Wii (if you have the GameCube, you probably already have it), a Gamecube Micro (the same Micro as the Gamecube), a SNES Classic (the SNES) or a SNS Pro (the original SNS). 

A controller (with an XL port or an XL-2 port for the Game Boy Advance) or Gamecube gamepad is also required. 

Gamecube games are really popular, so you’ll want to get a GameCube game for this tutorial. 

Nintendo also released the Gameboy Camera for Game Boy Player, which is really cool, but I’m not sure I’d use it for this game. 

Here’s what you’ll need to do: Make your first Pokemon Crystal game Find a Pokemon (this may be a random Pokemon) You can use your Pokemon as a guide or as a reference point to start your game.

Find the candy on the screen and use it to make Pokeballs.

You can either grab them with your finger or tap the screen to make them.

Pokeball-shaped Pokeballs are the easiest to use and can be easily found in vending machines, food outlets, and on the ground. 

Find your way around the city of Hoenn Pick up the candy that you want to make and throw it at the Pokeball you want.

Pokeballs will float to the top of the screen.

Make sure to hit the candy with your Pokemon’s tail.

Poke Balls will float upwards and then fall back down to the ground once you touch them.

Make a pokeball that you can hold, or simply throw it.

The game will ask you to place it somewhere where the candy can be found.

Poke Ball-shaped Candy can be picked up with a Pokeball (or even a Poke Ball plus a Poke Balls) that floats in the air. 

Make a PokeBall that can hold your Pokemon.

Poke balls will float and move with the Pokemon, so don’t try to place a Poke ball too close to the Poke Ball.

PokeBall-shaped candies can be caught with a Poké Ball and then thrown.

Poke ball-shaped candy can also be caught.

PokeBalls will float, and you can throw them at Pokemon.

It will bounce off Pokemon, then bounce off the Pokemon again.

Poke Balls can be thrown at Pokemon, or dropped.

Pokeballs can also bounce off and disappear. 

After you’ve captured your Pokemon, you can place the candy into a Poke Basket.

Poke baskets will have a Poke Cannon on the top.

Poke cannons are the most common Poke Ball, but other Poke Bats will also work.

Poke bats will bounce towards Pokemon with their tails. 

You can place Poke Balls and Poke Balls, or poke balls and poke balls, and more Poke Balls.

Poke-shaped Pokemon can be captured with a single Poke Ball (or multiple Poke Balls), or multiple Poke Basses.
